Can you help us find ways to save money on our roofing project?
One of the advantages of Duro-Last over most other roofing systems is that in many cases the roof can be installed directly over the existing roof without impacting the performance, longevity, or warranty of the roof. This can decrease the cost significantly, depending on the circumstances.
Do you have experience working with properties over 50,000 sq ft?
Yes, we have installed roofs over 300,000 sq. ft. We pride ourselves on working directly with property owners and tailoring solutions to their needs, regardless of the size of the project. We look to build long-term relationships where we are a trusted partner.
How long will my new roof last?
We’ve been installing Duro-Last roofs since 1995! We like Duro-Last more than any other roofing material, which is why it’s the only type of roof we install. How long a roof lasts depends on how well it was installed, what type and thickness of material was used, and how well the roof was maintained. All of our roofs come with a minimum 15-year warranty, and typically a 20-year. A 50 mil Duro-Last roof with a 20-year warranty is likely to last more than 30 years.
Is your labor subcontracted?
We generally don’t subcontract labor, but we do have long-standing relationships with subcontractors so that option is there if needed. We run 3 full-time service crews and 2 full-time installation crews made up entirely of MacDermott Roofing employees – all year round.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, credit cards, and ACH.
Do you warranty your repairs?
All repair work is guaranteed for 1 year. If we put down a patch and it comes apart in 6 months, we will replace it free of charge. However, older roofs are susceptible to leaks from many different sources and causes, so we can’t guarantee you against leaks unless we installed the roof and it’s under warranty.
What areas do you service?
We maintain, repair, and replace roofs throughout Metro Detroit and Ann Arbor.
Do you offer warranty options for your work?
All repairs come with a 12-month warranty for the repair only, and all new roofs come with a minimum 15-year labor and material warranty through Duro-Last.
What is your typical process for providing a quote and starting a project?
The process is as follows: 1. Discovery call to determine whether we’re a good fit for your project. 2. On-site meeting with customer, and roof inspection. 3. Proposal preparation. 4. Customer meeting to review proposal. 5. Sign proposal, receive deposit, and order material. 6. Complete the roof and warranty inspection. 7. Close-out meeting to deliver the warranty, receive any feedback about the job, and receive your free maintenance agreement that covers the first 2 years of basic roof maintenance and an inspection free of charge.
What types of roofs do you install?
We install Duro-Last PVC, the World’s Best Roof! ©
What type of roofing materials do you do maintenance on?
We repair and maintain all types of roofs, including tar (BUR), rubber (EPDM), PVC, TPO, modified, metal, and shingle.
How long will my project take?
The timeline is entirely dependent on the size and complexity of the project. As far as our schedule goes, we typically have a 2 month backlog for replacement, and 2-3 weeks for service. So, if you hire us to replace your flat roof on May 1st, we should be on the roof with the material starting the job by July 1st.
Do you offer any financing options?
We offer new roof financing through Michigan Saves. We include sample terms on all of our proposals, and we can connect you directly with a banker who will answer any financing questions you may have.
Do you require a deposit?
We require a 50% deposit for repairs over $5,000, and a 50% deposit for all new roof projects, regardless of size. Payment arrangements are available, as is financing. Deposits on repairs are not required for existing customers. Jobs that are considered a credit risk are required to be paid in full prior to commencement of work.
What does MacDermott Roofing do differently than other commercial roofing companies?
We believe that good customer service is about doing what’s best for the customer, and not what’s easiest for us.
